Iv been looking for a Matte lipstick for a while now and when i came across this Matte Lip Cream from Sleek Make Up i thought i would give it a try.
I'm not an avid wearer of coloured lip gloss or lipstick as i usually just wear just a lip balm, a bit plain i know, so i wanted to mix things up a bit.
The colour i brought is called petal, is a light pink and retails at £4.99.
My first impressions was the applicator, it is quite a solid wand where as other glosses i have tried have had a soft and movable wand, but i think i definitely prefer this applicator. However i did find that when i put the lip cream on my lips there was too much on the wand so i used my finger to evenly distribute it.
As i was using my finger instead of the applicator i found that it looked better on my lips, it was more even and surprisingly more of a Matte texture.
I did about three coats and blotted with tissue between each coat to get rid of the excess lip cream. By doing this it also gives a bolder colour.
I also brought a lip liner in a matching colour, i havent really used lip liners before and i thought i would try them out. I got the colour Softly Lined by MUA and loved it, i used it to obviously line my lips before using the lip cream. But i also used it all over my lips as it gave a nice subtle colouring. It retails at £1 and for that price is a real bargain. It also comes with a sharpener on the end of the lid which i think is good for the price of it.
I have read about colour correcting concealers and was dying to try them out. When i came across the Pro Base Prime and Conceal Powder by MUA, and at £4 i just had to try it out.
As i have a naturally red face and dark circles under my eyes i knew that the colours in the powder would help or at least hide them. Before i would usually just use a liquid concealer under my eyes to combat the dark circles. However as i have very dry skin due to having Eczema, i found that the concealer did not really help and would wear off during the day, not what i want out of a product.
So since switching to a powder foundation (KIKO Soft Compact Wet and Dry Foundation) i noticed that it suited my skin so much more and vowed never to go back to using liquid foundations.
The Pro Base Powder comes in four different colours which each have a different job. The peach colour is used to warm dark shades and circles. I found putting this under my eyes worked brilliantly, i looked like i had all of my beauty sleep.
The Lilac gives skin a brighter tone, if you just want to refresh a tired face then this colour is great for that, i usually just put it all over my face or if i notice a certain area then i will target that. The Yellow gets rid of purple under eye skin. I usually mix the yellow and peach to put under my eyes. The green colour is my favorite, i have a very red face naturally and i put this on the red patches and they disappear straight away, its brilliant! If i am in a rush and just want to give myself a quick glow then i use all of the colours by swirling a powder brush around it and putting it all over my face.
As well as a powder version there is a cream palette which has the same colours as well as an additional highlighting cream, it retails at the same price so is a bargain!
If you are looking to find a product for teeth whitening that works, literally go no further! Colgate Optic White has changed my life!!
I know what you are thinking, how can a toothpaste change your life? But after a week my teeth were noticeably whiter and i had so many compliments on them, someone even asked if i had them professionally whitened. So yes it works.
On the packaging it says 'one shade lighter in a week' and it definitely delivers that. I have only used it for a week and i cant wait to see the results after another week.
It tastes the same as other Colgate toothpastes i have used and is not too strong, as i know a lot of toothpastes i have used previously used have quite a strong minty taste.
I have never used teeth whitening products previously and was going to buy Coco White after one of my friends and so many celebrities have said how amazing it is, but when i saw Optic White advertised on the TV i thought i would save some money and try this. And i am so glad i do.
Now the British Summer is here it is time for hot and sunny days, perfect for getting an amazing tan. However we have to remember that in the UK we do not always have the best weather and achieving a flawless tan might not be achievable unless you are jetting off to somewhere exotic.
I was admiring my pale body in the shower one morning and thought wouldn't it be great if there was an in shower tan that would work. So i searched the internet and found St Tropez Gradual Tan In Shower Lotion, so i brought it the next day and tried it out.
Now, i am a complete fake tan virgin! i have done it twice and had huge streaks and it looked awful so my thoughts going into this were not the most positive but i heard good things from people so i thought i would give it chance. As well as this i have Eczema and very dry skin so it is difficult to find beauty products that i do not react too.
My first impressions from the product was that it smelt very nice, iv heard some tans do not smell good at all and leave a biscuit type smell on you for a few days. This was not the case at all and i smelt nice for the next few days after application.
To apply the product you first wash yourself in the shower, then squeeze a good sized amount into your hands and apply in a circular motion all over the body. I was nervous that i would miss parts of my skin and it would look awful. You then wash your palms so you do not get that orange look that you do when you tan on your hands. You then turn the shower off and wait three minutes. In these few minutes i was doing standing ab crunches. Killing two birds with one stone. Once the three minutes was up i washed the tan off and dabbed myself dry once i got out of the shower.
I did have a bit of a reaction to the tan on the crease of my elbow but i just bathed them and moisturized and they soon felt better. Apart from this i had no other problems with the product. I had no streaks and my whole body looked as if i had been lying in the sun for hours, it was brilliant!
I did have to wait until the night and next morning to see the full effects of the tan as it is a gradual one, but for the first application i was amazed how browner i was.
As well as giving me a glowing tan and smelling good it also left me with such smooth skin, i kept touching myself because i was so soft! it is made with Sweet Almond Oil so it gives you a deep level of moisture and lasts for up to 24 hours. This would be perfect for people with busy lives who have no time to get spray tans, and because it has the almond oil in it you do not need to apply moisturizer afterwards!
I would absolutely recommend the product to anyone, if you wanted to build up a dark tan i would say using it every day for a week and you would be sun kissed!
The price is £14.50 from Boots for a 200ML bottle. Here is the link to order online or for more information:
Whilst i was taking in all the sights and smells of Lush i found myself wondering over to the lip care products. I have always suffered with dry and chapped lips but have never really found lip balms that really do much to help. I then found a lip scrub which claims to scrub your lips of any dry skin and leave them soft so i thought i would buy a pot and give it a try.
I picked up the flavour BUBBLEGUM and it actually tastes like strawberry flavoured bubblegum, which is dangerous because then i am tempted to lick it off my lips before i have scrubbed them!
I first tried the product after i have brushed my teeth in the morning when i had woken up so they had not been moisturized yet and were a little dry. I dabbed my finger into the pot and made sure i had enough that it would cover my lip, and then massaged the scrub for about two minutes on each lip at a time to ensure all skin was removed.
The caster sugar exfoliates the lips whilst the jojoba oil leaves them feeling soft.
I then licked my lips to make sure all of the scrub was off, and then re framed myself from doing it again because it tasted so nice!
But i was very pleased with the results as i had very soft lips and my lipstick then went on and looked perfect, which it did not generally do before i used the product.
I love how the product is vegan friendly too so that everyone can use it and there are no limitations. Even boys with chapped lips can use it!
LUSH Lip Scrub is something i would recommend to girls who want to ensure their lips are perfectly smooth and soft, i take it everywhere with me now and even use it sometimes as a substitute for my lip balm.

I saw the Micellar water by Garnier advertised and thought it was a pretty cool concept of taking your make up off and cleansing at the same time so when i saw it on offer in boots for £1.00 for the handbag sized bottle so i thought i would try it.
I usually take my make up off Boots Essentials Make Up Remover and cotton wool pads and i cleanse my face with Nivea 2 in 1 cleanser and toner. I was happy with my routine but i thought why use two products when i can use one?
I found that the Micellar water was very good at taking all of my make up off and even my mascara which was sometimes hard to remove with the Boots Essentials Make Up Remover even though it is not a waterproof mascara.
However a downside to the product was that my skin did feel quite oily afterwards which i did not like and it did also feel a little itchy, but as i have sensitive skin that would not be the case for everyone else using the product. To combat this i just use some moisturizer which helps to stop the itching and soothes my skin.
I would really recommend the product to anyone if they wanted to change their skin care routine, i will continue to use the product and next time i will buy the larger bottle which retails at £4.99 for 400ml. I paid £1 for my 125ml bottle and it has lasted me three weeks so far using it everyday, so it is worth the money!
