Now the British Summer is here it is time for hot and sunny days, perfect for getting an amazing tan. However we have to remember that in the UK we do not always have the best weather and achieving a flawless tan might not be achievable unless you are jetting off to somewhere exotic.
I was admiring my pale body in the shower one morning and thought wouldn't it be great if there was an in shower tan that would work. So i searched the internet and found St Tropez Gradual Tan In Shower Lotion, so i brought it the next day and tried it out.
Now, i am a complete fake tan virgin! i have done it twice and had huge streaks and it looked awful so my thoughts going into this were not the most positive but i heard good things from people so i thought i would give it chance. As well as this i have Eczema and very dry skin so it is difficult to find beauty products that i do not react too.
My first impressions from the product was that it smelt very nice, iv heard some tans do not smell good at all and leave a biscuit type smell on you for a few days. This was not the case at all and i smelt nice for the next few days after application.
To apply the product you first wash yourself in the shower, then squeeze a good sized amount into your hands and apply in a circular motion all over the body. I was nervous that i would miss parts of my skin and it would look awful. You then wash your palms so you do not get that orange look that you do when you tan on your hands. You then turn the shower off and wait three minutes. In these few minutes i was doing standing ab crunches. Killing two birds with one stone. Once the three minutes was up i washed the tan off and dabbed myself dry once i got out of the shower.
I did have a bit of a reaction to the tan on the crease of my elbow but i just bathed them and moisturized and they soon felt better. Apart from this i had no other problems with the product. I had no streaks and my whole body looked as if i had been lying in the sun for hours, it was brilliant!
I did have to wait until the night and next morning to see the full effects of the tan as it is a gradual one, but for the first application i was amazed how browner i was.
As well as giving me a glowing tan and smelling good it also left me with such smooth skin, i kept touching myself because i was so soft! it is made with Sweet Almond Oil so it gives you a deep level of moisture and lasts for up to 24 hours. This would be perfect for people with busy lives who have no time to get spray tans, and because it has the almond oil in it you do not need to apply moisturizer afterwards!
I would absolutely recommend the product to anyone, if you wanted to build up a dark tan i would say using it every day for a week and you would be sun kissed!
The price is £14.50 from Boots for a 200ML bottle. Here is the link to order online or for more information:
