So I have jumped on the coconut oil bandwagon and I can see why people love it! I was always put off a little buy the price, but when I saw a jar in Tesco for £5.99, the same size as the one I saw just five minutes before in Holland and Barratt for £15.99, I thought I had no excuse anymore so I brought it!
I first used it in my cooking instead of Sunflower Oil Cooking Spray that I use instead of normal cooking oil and it worked so well. I found that when I use the Sunflower Oil my food always ends up burning at the bottom and I have to add more, but the coconut oil melted down so well it didn’t burn at all. It adds so much more flavour to the food, for example I have been eating Banana pancakes for breakfast and I can really taste the Coconut in it which gives it so much more flavour.
Another use for it I have read is for a natural skin moisturiser, I used it on my lips, feet and legs and I have seen a difference so quickly. I usually moisturize with a body conditioner from Lush but I found it did leave me needing to moisturise half way through the day, but with the Coconut Oil I was soft all day. I also used the oil on my face after I had taken my make up off, my face was very greasy and I had to keep pushing my glasses up because they kept sliding off. But the next morning my face was so smooth, you could notice a difference when I applied my makeup that it gives it a more flawless look.
When I was doing some research as to what other uses there are for this brilliant oil I found that you can use it as a highlighter, just put it over your makeup in the places that you wish to extenuate. You can also put it in on your eyelashes to nourish and help them to grow, I have heard of putting Vaseline on them before and that has really helped mine to grow.
You can also just eat a spoonful of it, now this doesn’t sound particularly appealing to me but it has so many benefits:
· Helps speed up weight loss
· Can help improve sleep
· Boost hormone production
· Can help with allergy symptoms
There are literally hundreds of things that you can do with Coconut Oil instead of just cooking with it, kind of like a miracle product which I will certainly be buying again. If you haven't brought one yet then seriously get one!
